California has been part of Empress Chinchilla from the very beginning of Chinchillas and Empress. The very first Chinchillas in the USA arrived in 1923 in Los Angeles.

Today we are connecting Chinchillas to people in many diverse ways. We still strive for in-person shows and field days, but we also connect over Zoom and through photo contests and youth educational projects. Building a Chinchilla community through connections to fit your lifestyle.
